Spring and Fall Cleanup
Our busiest time of the season is at it's beginning and it's end. In the spring we are eagerly approached by our loyal clients, excited to start the season. Similar to general maintenance, but on a larger scale, we clean up your space and get it ready for new life, enjoyments, and fun! It's also when we do most of our planting and garden planning for the season, one of our favorite things.

In the fall we cleanup the dying plants and get the perennials ready for winter. Leaf pickup, trimming and winterizing takes up the bulk of our work. We are always sad when the season ends and we say goodbye to our clients to rest for the winter, but it makes coming back in the spring all the sweeter!

Weeding
What is a weed? It might surprise you to know it's not ALWAYS dandelions and other similar plants. In fact, it can be any unwanted plant be it in the wrong place or just invasive in general. Continuous weed removal over the season will help keep unwanted plants from spreading and taking over your garden, and it will increase the health of the plants you do want.

Pruning
Trees and shrubs need periodic pruning in order to extend their health, keep their shape and allow for adequate aeration. There's nothing like a freshly trimmed bush to make your space feel tidy and appealing.

Watering and Fertilizing
A good watering is important to start and end the season, and so is fertilizing. Depending on the plants and the time of year, some fertilizers can be applied that will slow release over time in order to help keep the plant fed and healthy for weeks and even months at a time.

Deadheading
It sounds rough but deadheading spent flowers is essential to keep the plant blooming continuously throughout the season. If you allow too many flowers to die and wither on the plant it will start focusing on going to seed and it will lose it's vibrance very quickly. Once fall hits deadheading can be reduced in order to collect seeds.

Planting and Transplanting
One of our favorite things to do is fetch our clients the best plants. Throughout the earlier part of the season we can install annuals and perennials as needed to fill out your garden. We can also use what you already have by splitting mature plants into sections to create more growth all around.

Cleanup and Leaf Removal
Leaves, branches, and debris can often fall and create mess in your space. Our motto is the same as the campsite, leave things cleaner than when you came.

Winterizing
Wrapping your delicate and well, more "delicious" plants to protect them from the weather and the animals is essential during our fall cleanup. This often involves wrapping bushes, shrubs, and evergreens in burlap and creating animal proof caging around them. Younger trees also benefit from some protection from bark stripping animals looking for a winter treat.

Bulb Planting
Fall can feel sad as the season is ending, but planting bulbs can make us hope for a more colorful spring! Tulips, daffodils, crocus, etc. can all be planted in the fall so that even in the earliest sparks of spring your garden will be full of life and color. We also make homemade squirrel and pest deterrent to bury with the bulbs to help keep the hungry rodents away.

Furniture Takedown
While we mainly specialize in soft-scaping and gardening, we can help with the take down and storage of outdoor furniture upon request.
